Update. Let the bike sit in the garage last night. Turned the key and it started right up. I'm gonna pull the fuel pump controller and give it a look over.
My bike is a 2008 and it seems like modern models have the same issue. Was the design flaw never re-engineered? I ask because I have a warranty and will take it to a dealership and have it replaced. Thanks. |

So I inspected the fuel pump controller. Around the housing I found small pebbles and rocks and the surface was completely dry. This was approximately 15 hours after I had issues with stalling. Inspecting the gasket on the controller reveals some dried dirt on both sides of the fuel pump controller. Inside the chamber where the connection is made to the fuel pump there was a small droplet of water in the corner. I unplugged the fuel pump controller's blue harness and it was dry and corrosion free. At this point I'm going to clean the gasket and look for methods to test the controller's function.

Update:
Just stopped by the dealership to look at the fuel pump controller and gasket. Gasket is the same, fuel pump controller is different from what I have. Mine is silver, dealership had a black plastic unit. Talked to service and it's replaceable under warranty (my bike has an aftermarket warranty). Hopefully the stalling was recorded in my computer. We'll see.

27B7 is the expected fault, but like I said earlier, mine faulted at 1000KM inspection due to powerwashing without the fault code.
In your last 2 photos I see what appears to be significant corrosion on the "downstream" side of the O ring along with debris on the female seat in photo 2. Should be factory fresh on this side of the O ring if it was intact. I think the seal was bybassed by water for quite some time.

Amazing
I have an '07 GSA and can't tell you how many torrential rainstorms I either rode through or the bike simply endured while parked in Panama for two years. Never a problem.

Is there a number to check to see if its the latest model? I have a 2010, not sure if it has a new updated unit or one that has been known to be faulty

Just dropped off the GS. I'm pissed off...because I passed on the courtesy service loaner BMW scooter!

Update:
Shop agreed the presence of water but there wasn't an error code. I'll have to replace the rubber seal. |

Ok, it was the same issue for me, bike dies and no code generated. But....it did fail and generate a code eventually. $135 bucks to replace it and have peace of mind. Watch out!!!
