Looked at one today...dayammm they are nice. If I could afford one and keep the TE I would do that. I just really like using mine as a dualsport though.

Out to Chapparals to pickup a Michelin Desert front. They are getting very difficult to find online, backordered everywhere. Chappy's had two of them, $95. Nice aggressive knobby - gonna give it a try out. Getting ready for Death Valley Rally.

Here are links to the shop manuals with a schematic of the 45MM forks and I can not determine where there is a difference..

.
i have shortened conventional forks by placing a spacer on the damper tube .It pulls the damper/topout spring down.Without pulling a set of 630 forks apart it would have to on the damper or a shorter damper tube is used on the 630

Happy 630 owner

I haven't been on here for about a year. Had to check out some of the 650 talk. I have to say that I am glad that I bought the 630 when I did.

Yep, just south of Rocky Ford crossing near Neal Kansas, the terrain may not be the most challenging but the great thing about the Flint Hills there's always a road you haven't been down yet!
And how about that "custom" rear rack that mounts to the stock hand holds, if I do say so myself.

I'm more interested in the bag on the rack... it looks like a Wolfman, but I cannot find it in their line-up. What is it?

Same...

It had been a year since I last rode a 630... Dusted one off and took it for a quiet run around the horse paddock over the weekend.

It'll be a couple of years, but I suspect my next big single will be orange unless something else comes along.

While I would be happy if the current rebadging of bmw's into husky's is brought to an end I don't see to what benefit it is for KTM to buy Husqvarna?
Would it be to eliminate the competition and expand their production facilities? Have they turned Husabergs into blue KTM's, would Husky's just become red KTM's? If Bmw would have just pumped money and management into Husky and not made them take the failed bmw models they would have had better success imo.

BMW did pump money into Husqvarna.... and while I wasn't a huge fan of the G450 based 449/511, they were better performers when revamped into Huskies than they were as BMW's.

The TR650 Terra as the new bargain "upscale KLR", if left in the marketplace, would be a huge seller for the re-entry and cheapskate sector
As a BMW, the 650 wasn't that popular for it's price.

It is strange to think what the lineup will shake out as....Husaberg no longer does the 70degree motor, so they truly are just blue KTM's...and Husqvarna's only non-BMW derived motor is the X Lite in the 250/310.
What happens to it?
KTM has the very popular 350 that the Husqvarna 310R redhead was designed to compete with...
