For the price of the crashbars you coulda had 3 sets of tires with traction and not needed the bars.

Part Four (No moe.ron 2)

Again there is no moe.ron...just me and the F8 on my one day off this week. Decided to explore the area around Bouquet Canyon Road in Angeles NF...

High speed slab of 126 ..through the lemon farms...nice and green this time of year with all the rain we have had...smells great...push 80-85 to just get there already

Up the canyon I find something that looks interesting enough

Nice road!! Not too tough, very big bike friendly, little wet still here and there...views! fuck yeah! the views

OMG that sucks! Sounds considerably more painful than what happened to me, and may take a bit more time to heal. Really glad your alive.

You know we gotta ask, how did the bike hold up?

I am as broke as they come, but I'm getting tires. Visa wont mind, the wife is another story...

Onwards and Upwards on Artesian Springs Road

(NF 6N07)...lots of "hero" sections and alternatives along the way...lots of black diamond stuff to come back to on the little bike

At some point I went from 6N07 to 6N08? Not off course, since I don't really have one and I begin to descend

The protective gear on the bike did its job. Driving light mounting bracket bent/broken? The engine crash bar scratched, engine head protective scratched, pannier scratched, Left side of the tank is slightly scratched.

All in all the bike came out of this great. I was going ~20-25 when I went down. No complaints. And thanks for the offers.

At the botttom of the hill I stopped and chatted with some fellow ADVers..of course your screen name escapes me...but it was nice to meet you and thanks for taking my pic

tires are coming...

On to Quarry Road from here and back up...little more wide open, hence the speed increase...still hyper watchful for the dirtbike or quad coming the other way or worse...jeep/truck

From Quarry...I meandered back up Bouquet Canyon to Elizabeth Lake and onto Pine Canyon road heading toward Gorman...in need of fuel and a snack...i had an idea...crazy, stupid perhaps, but I wanted to try...

Last time I was up on Mt. Pinos there was a dirt road, covered with ice and snow at the time, that ran from Mt. Pinos to Lockwood Valley...well considering the temps were high recently I wondered if I could get down it....

Short answer; NO

Long answer: Had to try, well no...no I didn't...retrospect..kind of dumb to do, especially without a witness...it was steep, ice and snow covered...but I could see the dirt down the road teasing me...didn't stand a chance...front end washed out about 20 feet into it...was going to ride the dirt on the side, but the drop off made me nervous so I was going to high side of the road...

Good News: A-Spec crash bars worked brilliantly!! The handle bar didn't even touch the ground and no damage some sand paper and a rattle can can't fix.

Took two more drops and some huffing to Austin Powers her around on the small dirt patch...back up and down the mountain to Lockwood to 33 to home....

Good day, missed ya Moe.ron

Snow, ice, bank with a long ways down and you are out alone. You remind me of someone else I know.
