Pentosin CHF 7.1 fluid for 950 ADV clutch

I am about to install a Rekluse clutch on my 950 Adventure. While searching the forum from my phone I only found one mention of this type of mineral oil. Does any have any thing negative to say about using this with the KTM clutch?

I have used both the 7.1 and the 11S with good results.

I prefer the 11S because it is less affected by extremes of temperature, because the
11S is synthetic-based whereas the 7.1 is not.


A can of either is a lifetime supply for any KTM hydraulic clutch, so it is a lot
more cost effective than that "Magura blood", which is laughably overpriced for
what it actually is. Of course, the motorcycle "industry" is full of overpriced stuff
but that doesn't mean people who can think for themselves need to subject themselves
to paying absurd amounts for what is essentially repackaged product which typically
sells for far less in its automotive version.


In fact the 11S is what I use in all three KTMs I own ( RFS, LC4, LC8 ). All three clutches have worked just
fine for years. There is an o-ring which comes as part of a Mercedes power steering
pump rebuild kit which works much better in the clutch slave than the OEM o-ring. I
wish I could give you a part number for the rebuild kit but I don't have it. That Mercedes o-ring is
impregnated with graphite and it lasts a lot longer than the KTM OEM o-ring.
It fits perfectly and doesn't require any modification to the slave cylinder. If I ever find the part number
for that Mercedes power steering pump rebuild kit I will add it to this thread.

I am glad to hear that you have used this without issue. I was concerned about an o-ring swelling or something weird. I would have to wonder if the 11S is "less affected by temperature" if there would be any noticeable performance impacts as the bike heats up. I guess we shall find out a little later in the week when my clutch arrives.
