When Andy Caldecott died my interest in the Dakar evaporated almost overnight. I followed his every stage up until then.

Sorry John, but I'm out if you insist on that ridiculous KTM lycra crap you seem to be fond of wearing!
Cheers, Pete

and I was like you but then two years ago my dear old dad passed away,,, passion for bikes and all drifted for a while then I went and watched the Safari via the ADVtour, had a few talks to Cyril, loved the comeradery of the boys in bivy . Faith restored As I see it,to go the next step as Ausies these top riders/teams need to be doing the entire rally raid circuit only then we we see someone full fill Andy's potential, we obviously have the talent, just need the funds

Interview with Warren Strange and Jamie Morgan
This is brilliant - do yourself a favour and have a listen.

Rod Faggotter finished 14th and Ben Grabham 15th. Both about 2.5 hours behind the winner, which averages just over 10.5 minutes per day over 14 days riding. Pretty good result I would think.
Despres averaged 3 hours 6 minutes per day on special stages; Faggotter and Grabham averaged 3 hours 16.

Replays
Watching Dakar replays trying to get rid of my riding withdrawal systems, might make it worse
