Man i'd love a 400 but they are hard to come by here, and when they do 2k plus, even 250 are pricey.
as for tight woods i think they are are awesome i toss mine around easily, it only weighs 105kg/230 pounds with six gears and 12 counter sprocket it's good for tight woods and the road. |

I couldnt believe it was pretty much all there.....A little beat on but the bike is still pretty tight.
Some of the above stuff will make you slobber!!Color of the plastic is primo on sidetracks! I love these old bikes.....very low maintenance....set of rings will last all summer. Its on the back burner....Scored a 80 Husky 390 OR a few weeks a go,going to get it back smokin first. These old bikes are like crack or heroin I think..Once you start you cant quit! |

PE175 Mod
Don't know wether this is common knowledge or not.
I had a PE 175B. I bought it brand new. I was reading a mag one day about what the USA Suzuki Enduro team did to prepare the bikes. Seems like the PE 175 B (maybe other models) were shipped with a huge restriction in the expansion chamber above the cylinder head. This thing was like a huge washer that was weleded to the inside of the chamber and had a rather small (relatively speaking) hole in the middle. We ripped open the chamber (big risk for me as a new chamber was about $400 back in 1978 and I was a student) and removed the restriction and also enlarged the hole in the silencer cap to double its size. Holy crap Batman!! I was working at the local Suzi dealer at the time and the boss had a PE he was racing at Hattah Desert races and was complaining he couldn't gear it high enough as the engine wouldn't pull the gearing. I didn't tell him what I had done. When he came back his face was white. He'd given himself a good scare. No problems pulling the gearing after that. Maybe worth a look. Don't know if they did the same things to the 250's.

Hi Guys,
My first ever post... My user name should have been " Frank from Quebec " but I found out too late and I'm stuck with " fro " it seems. Back to topic. I have a restored and dual sport road legal 400. ![]() ![]() When I fount it as a pile of parts, the previous owner had started to hacksaw the frame so it would fit in his garbage can... So it is a total rebiuld with powder coated frame and motor, replated fasteners etc etc. Hope you like it. Frank |

Anybody restoring one of those should consider this kit :
http://www.powerdynamo.biz/eng/syste...7227dcmain.htm It gives enough power for a 60w headlight + a tail light just above idle rpm. and a brand new ignition system. Frank |
