Definitely interested.
Will I (should I) change the Shinko 705's I normally use to something like a TKC80?

Madriver weighs around 275 and his son around 350. They are indeed some of our biggest campers. Are you bigger than that?
As for their "rigs"..... I wouldn't know.

I should add that the son stands about 6'-8" and the dad only a few inches shorter.

Curious to know why the AMA requirement? Do you think that it will help get more riders, was it for insurance, or just to promote an organization that does some good? In my eyes it's just another added cost having to join AMA, NETRA, OHRV sticker ,register, inspection and MVTR my local club all before I even start riding. That means I am out some serious money before I can ride. IMHO I would rather skip AMA and just join a local club who does more to promote riding and responsible land use locally than the AMA will ever do.
I would love to do your ride but money's tight and the AMA requirement means I'll most likely just help out putting together a club ride that weekend. |

The AMA requires membership to ride events that are on their National Schedule.
The Berkshire 2 Day is a National. Therefore to have that sanction and the prestige that goes with it, we must require you to be a member of the AMA.

That's your prestige of riding in an AMA National, plus you get a chance to win a bike at the end of the series.

I am sorry to hear that joining the AMA is a barrier for you to ride our event. As Rusty Rocket said this is a national event and the AMA requires all participants to be AMA members ($49 per year). I am not going to debate if the AMA helps our sport or not, I am a life member and personally believe the AMA is a very important part of motorcycling in the USA. As for this event, we went for a national this year because we wanted to draw more participants and take the BTR spring event (our ninth annual) to the next level. I hope you do help your local club that weekend, we all need to support our sport. Ride on.
