Yup
Greg B has a nifty writeup of the siren bracket. It's on the top of the loop, these remnants are on the bottom. Oh well...
The good news is the cam and crank all checked out nicely. The bearings are worn and did their job. They'll now be residing in the big trashbin in the sky... bearings and seals were always on the list. I'm ALMOST to the point where I can start putting stuff back together.

Mystery Switch
Located just forward of the throttle, down below where you would REALLY have to look for it is this momentary.
Not very accessible. Two wires Blk/Blu & Br. that jump back into the harness. I thought it must be the horn but it doesn't go there. What could it be? It doesn't show up anywhere. Police thing?

It doesn't seem beefy enough. It's like 18-16 gauge wire. I thought it must be the horn....
I'm not aware of a relay anywhere? There, underneath the master cylinder.

My favorite description
Moto Guzzi Riding Position
the large "police" or California handlebar for Eldorado, Ambassador. Positions your hands for a riding position similar to that of a roto-tiller. MGCycle

Nick is correct. Starter button wiring. Blue/blk - power from fuse block, brown - power to the relay. It doesn't need to be any "beefier" since there is a relay mounted back under the voltage regulator.

Thanks
I appreciate your input.
The button doesn't show on any of the parts dios that I have. I've been debating replacing the wire harness but it seems rather specific to the bike.

http://thisoldtractor.com/gtbender/m...og_850_1ed.pdf Greg Bender sells excellent replacement harnesses - every single piece to replicate the original harness. http://thisoldtractor.com/gtbender/f...ng_harness.htm He also offers a harness to add headlight relays as well, something Guzzi never had.

Thumbs up on Greg Benders harness, I replaced a lot of wire with his on my 74, they are first class and he has installation instructions on his web site that are top notch.

Ah the old starter button, now I notice that this is not all it seems in Guzzi world, when I got my 70 Ambo I noticed when researching on the web etc, that my bike never had one, I mentioned it over on my thread here... http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=841764
So I found and bought one from ebayland, and had intended to fit it at a later date. But, it would seem I had made a basic error, most of the info on the WWW, is from American sources, but my bike is an Italian home market bike, and as such has a few subtle differences, probably because they wanted to use up parts from older models. My bike has a starter ignition switch, just like a car, turn it over and it starts no push button needed, if you look closely you will also see other things, rear light, seat pattern, carb clamps.

You would really be better off getting a new one from here...
http://www.mgcycle.com/product_info.php?products_id=959 Cheaper than me posting to the US, and you know it will work Ok when you fit it.

The switch on V7 Sports can also start like a car, by turning past the "run" setting, but it has a starter button as well. I am not sure if my Eldo does it too.
