I does a bit-not a lot. - I am not after much wind protection at the moment - the wind is all clean low turbulance and I'm wearing an open face. In winter I use an electric vest and cover up. The screen is close to the headlight and it kind of pick sup the light from it at night and creates this neat glow around the edges.

Other than the few extra kilo's and the seat form (that a personal taste thing of mine), you know this new Husky is winning quite a few
fans as a genuine "dual sport" (soft offroad) alternative... seem's that they (Husky) may have kicked a goal with this one...
especially now that there are some aftermarket bits (bashplates, tanks, racks etc.) coming down through the pipeline...

It will be interesting to see what (if) Mr Pierer does acquire the Husqvarna name, what direction he takes it?
I like the Nuda platform potential since I saw it... and these new 650's have been acquiring a following.
I have been a bit critical of KTM watering down their offerings over the last 5 years... but maybe it wasn't his doing...
the indians? the bean counters? The Husky acquisition by Pierers group (if it goes through) may well be a forum for them to build
some offroad/dualsport/play bikes with some passion in them again?

(Please, please uncle Stefan... promise to make a true 170 kg red SuperEnduro based around the Nuda 900 RR engine as a power plant...?! ).

You are so much the vanguard DRF...

What ya' got planned for yours next...?

Is there anything complicated in the servicing of these Chinese BMW Rotax motors?
A friend recently had his Dakar 650 serviced at the Local BMW dealer for a cost of $450.
This seems exorbitant for a single 650 when the Suzuki dealer in the next town does a full service on a DR 650 including valves for less than $150.

I've highlighted your problem.

Service intervals on them are supposed to be 10k km (about double what the Jap single cylinders are), 3k for heavy use. I personally would still change it every 5k because they use a wet clutch (unlike the big GS... up till now).

I can't find a maintenance schedule, but it will be the same as the GS650.

From my experience with KTM here, it will mean they don't carry many parts, they only place parts orders when there are enough parts to warrant it, they don't ring you back as promised if said part does or does not come in. I could go on!
