yamaha supermoto trade - $2200
I didn't know track bikes didn't require a VIN #, also, when I poweder coated my frame I kept my title even though you couldn't see the numbers. Odd.

I know yamaha replacement atv frames come without a vin# on them. Not sure about bikes but there could be a legitimate reason

Where is the title for the original bike/frame? Why doesnt he indicate he will give a bill of sale?

I never claimed to have all the answers
![]() Just wanted to point out that a vin-less frame is not on its own a red flag. A potential buyer should still look at the overall facts., Such as a receipt for the replacement frame. Also a bikes vin is also stamped on the engine (again on atv's I know for fact) which I would run at minimum through this https://www.nicb.org/theft_and_fraud...check/vincheck and if at all possible have police check the engine vin# as well

So he added "Bill of Sale", I guess someone must've tipped him off or it belongs to someone on this board.

Also, if it was legit why would the seller put ANYWHERE as location and not at least the county it's in.

I've never seen a frame VIN number stamped on the engine of any motorcycle I've owned. Engine numbers are meaningless for VIN, registration or titling purposes.
I have seen factory race bikes with no VIN numbers on the frame.

Never claimed it was legit Never said buy the fucking thing. Just said replacement frames don't always come with a VIN number.
Reason for VIN number on engines is for anti theft purposes. In cars almost every major part is stamped with the VIN# which is why you have to go for a veh insp when putting a car with salvage title on the road. What they are checking for is stolen vin#s not road worthiness. Only reason I brought it up was to point out another possibility of checking if it was legit or not
