Hey guys! First time posting here. Very new to the motorcycle world, no new in fact I never even rode one! So I just wanted to get on here and ask you guys about the permit processes in PA. It says I'll need to past a vision test and a paper test, is there a study guide for this test? I found this PDF file http://www.dmv.state.pa.us/pdotforms...als/pub147.pdf, is that all I need to be able to pass the test? What kinda question are on it?

When I get my permit, since I have a Class C licences now I can just go out and by a bike and ride right? Thats not what I plan to do though, I'm gonna sign up for the state safety course being I know nothing about riding a bike.

Also wanted to start the processes of finding a area dealer with a good rep, its good to build that kind of thing now.

Thanks for your time guys!

If you can be patient enough, buy a cheap used dirt bike and ride trails for a year before hitting the street. This approach has so many advantages and no disadvantages that I can think of.

Dave's XT is the way to go. God learning bike and good resale later when you are ready for a big bike.

That's my plan, what kind of questions can I expect on the permit test though? For my starter bike Its anything goes. Probably gonna lay it down a few times before I get the hang of it. After I get decent I plan to look into a nice standard/naked bike

That seems like a good deal, just want something a little bigger.

Dirt bikes are not an option for me, I live in Philly and just sold an ATV that I could never find a place to ride with.
