I too can vouch for Ginas BMW, great service, great after sale care, I had an R90S I had bought elsewhere shipped to her shop as I was coming up to pick up a new GS, they serviced the R90S for me as well as dealt with the unloading and storage. Very happy with her sales staff and her shop guys are very professional. I think it is worth the drive.

And I wouldn't let them clean my cat's litterbox, but we all have different experiences..

Between Gina's and the now defunct Kegel's that were in Rockford, I've done my own service for 10 years.. I bought my bike (05' GS) here on ADV slightly used and have serviced it myself, as well as my R80 and R65..

The good dealership in the Midwest was C and D in Freeport, IL, but they retired and BMWNA wouldn't allow someone to purchase the dealership.. Kegels' closed (no loss) and now the area's without a dealer.. On the other hand, it's made those of us in the area much better BMW wrenches..

About to buy some gear - I'll probably give Mischlers a try.

I will for sure give a second vote for Grassroots BMW in Cape Girardeau, MO. I've bought two bikes from them and had some service items attended to. Never a problem...friendly & knowledgeable folks. Highly recommend them.

Mischler's is holding my GS hostage, in a heated garage, for $1/day.
Have always had upfront dealings with them. Danny can be a hard ass.

Gina's BMW in Iowa City

I have bought two bikes and have had all three of my BMW's serviced at Gina's. They are nice people and very helpful. Like most mechanics you sometimes leave feeling like they raked you over the coals a bit, but hey the service always makes the bike pur like new. I keep going back and also really enjoy a lot of the free events they put on for the local BMW community.

Another vote for Gina's. Every time I've needed something done they've been super about working me into the schedule. I bought my current GSA from her and as I was leaving she asked her husband if he had any advice for me about riding it. His answer? "Ride it like you stole it." My response: "Only way I know how."
