Like a new man. You should grab it and put it in the dirt some where.

I was asked today if Potts Mt Jeep trail was within the boundaries and after careful examination I believe it is

have you ever been there? I visited a year or so ago and would have to be under some kind of influence to take my KLR up that pig path. My advice...if you venture there, do not do it alone. Seriously, bad cell phone service, and a high probability of a get off..if you go there go with a buddy.

I would have taken stonecoal road but thought the multiple water crossing would cause problems since there was already standing water everywhere. I had to watch for rocks coming off the banks on 311 .I passed several that had rolled out in the road.

New tag at lunch if the wind lays down if not I will get it up tonight or in the morning.
Oh this is at the parking lot for the A T south goes to dragons tooth and north goes to McAfee Knob and Tinker cliffs .
McAfee knob is one of the most photographed spots on the A T . If you have not done so I recomend taking a week-end and hiking from 220 to 311 around the cove across the cliffs and up to the knob you will not regret it. It is a little over 20 miles I think and can be done in a day but it is better done overnight.
great grab Goose! it was raining really hard last night, bet it was hard to see in that downpour. Of course this is the man that when the skeet thrower broke, threw about 300 clays by hand just so his buddies could shoot! You da man Goose!

I should grab it and move it 20 or miles away from civilization; or if we were to get some significant snowfall I could bury it in a snow pile as I am plowing the access road up to the monument on the hill.

Potts Mtn. trail is do-a-ble on a 650cc or larger bike in the heat of August; just ask Goosecreek.(Don't read the entrance sign warning only for lifted vehicles).

I can read the poachers' minds. it will be left at a "welcome to NC" sign at the base of the sign post tucked away in the uncut grass, someday soon to be full of chiggers and ticks!

Anybody grabs the rat in this cold wind today is as adventurous as that grab in the thunderstorm. There is black ice out there!

Gilerd I thought you had talked to Toybarn when you mentioned potts mountian jeep trail.
Visibilty was poor at best I found that if my speed dropped below 60mph I had to turn my head all the time to clear the water from my sheild.

havent been there myself except to shoot guns. Sounds like someone has a history there! I've seen pictures online, they look insane. I wonder how it would be in the snow? Yeah edit that last post. Anybody gets it in the snow today can take the most insane award I'd say. though I don't have any experience riding in either a raging thunderstorm, nor a snowstorm. great, i drove the maxima in instead of the jeep. fun time!

Oh, the ride to and from is great... Heck, even if one was to be Bruced. I got Bruced in the VA game once in Indian Valley. Just under 200mi round trip and it was well worth the ride.

Warning: Hijack!!

I'm going to briefly HIJACK this thread. TONIGHT (Sat. 2/2) is the Roanoke Fiddle and Banjo Club show at Northside High School. Good local Blue Grass Music. I plan to go, and wanted to invite other local ADV and TVR folks who like Blue Grass. Starts at 5:30, goes to 9:00.
email me or call me off thread if you are interested in going.

No worries, Hank. Nothing wrong with a little rat chat on this thread. I bet that bluegrass was some good stuff
