Max: I didn't ride as the "75F Sunny 0% chance of rain" was not entirely correct .....
I can ride any day until April so I'll be in touch. Bob

Great, nice pics.
I got out also for a ride in the Tortolita's. Found a couple of double tracks through to the West but got turned back by gates. Really good sand wash riding and some power line speed work. I was glad I took the 690 KTM. My 990 would have been a lot of work out in the sand. This week I'm planning on doing the Mammoth to Klondike ride and the Charoleau Gap. I'm trying to ride as many of the routes on Dual Sport Maps site, in this area as I can in the next few months. I'm always up for long dirt rides on the 990 or on the 690 in the more tech stuff. Twist it, Max

Mexico
Just back from a solo, two up ride through Baja with my wife. 1700 miles, no mass shootings. Baja is safer now than it has been in a decade, not that it was dangerous then, all things being equal. I have also soloed with my wife several times to Creel/Batopilas using a lot of lesser traveled roads, no problems. I have been traveling in Mexico for 50 + years, own a home just south of Puerto Penasco, so I might be biased or ignorant but I can only speak from my actual experiences in Mexico. Like any place on the planet, there are some comon sense guidelines to follow. If you are in the Anchorage area, you should try to get in touch with Vinney aka Crashmaster.

Red Garter is 1st & 3rd Thursdays, and sometimes the 5th. 6:30pm~ish.
Very informal, show up when ever, eat/drink/shoot the breeze.

I rode the 690 on Charouleau gap ride from the Catalina side the other day. The wet rocky riding through the steam beds was a hand full and there were a couple of climbs with difficult technical sections that took some effort. Was wishing I was on the 300 a couple of times. But beautiful canyon country with a remote feel for so close in. I'm waiting for a Garmin Montana to show up, so I can get the many tracks from dualsportmaps.com loaded up and get after it. Well I guess I need to ride over to Klondike. Fr. 143 good thanks for that ! Hey Griz, want some company, what bike you riding ? Twist it, Max
