Good story Grump, nothing like kids to keep us in touch with ourselves.
I hope everyone has a relaxing holiday and best wishes to all, with lots of time on the bike in 2013!!!

Starting out great
I had to take advantage of the warm weather today so I got Jaws out this afternoon for a few trips up and down the drive way. Lots of fun doing slow speed maneuvers on the ice and snow.

Heh I just snowblowed my back yard.. in hopes of that when this white stuff melts, the path to my bike garage will be dry about the same time the roads will be.

Hi Everyone!
Hope You all didn't celebrate New Year too much!! I talked to my LacLaBiche Winter Festival of Speed contact and He confirmed March 2-3 as the date for the ice races. Of course that's weather and ice conditions permitting..... Regards....just jeff |

Glad to have confirmed dates for the ice races in Lac La Biche!! Thanks JustJeff!!
I'd like to know if anyone from our end of the highway is going to the bike show, on one of those dates 12-13-14 of January. I'm looking for partners to go, my wife trying to get some alone time after a crazy time during the Holidays!! Let me know!! ![]() ![]()

I'm heading down on Saturday with a car full of friends, hope to see you down there Taz.
Usually a bunch of the Edmonton crowd starts the day with breakfast somewhere in the city then herds over there. Have to search the threads here and see if they have anything set up. |

Winter Blues
So here we are in the season of winter depression. What's everyone doing to fend off the blues? I'm trying to keep busy by turning the grapes I grew last summer into wine ( the house has the smell of fermenting grapes now) and turning perfectly good pieces of firewood into semi-recognizable projects on my wood lathe. I've already ordered and received my tires for this riding season and it's too early to swap out the tires on the bikes as they still have a few kms left. Thinking of doing a ride to the Yukon in June, so doing some reading and planning around that.
Beside I noticed this thread was about to fall off page 2 so I thought it was time for bump. grump |

I'm hoping to put my ATRE and fuel management on this weekend. And maybe test out my head light, replace a relay see if I can figure out why my headlight has a lag when switching to highbeam... or doesn't want to turn on at all some times.

I went to Fort Mac last Sat and bought a complete 2012 KX450f front end to graft onto my 2003 KLR. This will give me 48mm inverted tubes with fully adjustable dampening and 12 inches of travel. I also recieved a big box of farkels from AVisciousCycle. IMS fuel tank, Ricochet skidplate, Pivot pegs, IMS shifter, ProTaper bars, KLX needle kit, Barkbusters, SW Motec rear luggage racks, rim locks, Steble air horn.
If the weather warms up enought this weekend I may be able to take it for a drive! Only 3 months of winter left!! Regards....just jeff |

Winter blah's are right Grumpy. I'm down in San Diego for another 3 weeks, 20+ weather and no bike. Haven't even seen that many on the road, They must park them for the winter down here too. Hope to be back for the ice races but the way the aircraft are working I doubt it.
