Street tires, 21 year old worn-out shock, 600+ lb bike, highway speeds- no problem. Just watch your track for the occasional soft strip of gravel build-up.

Edit: I should mention this this was in 2006; they might have added a shovel full or two since.

I'm going to recycle this thread.

The long range forecast looks good for superbowl weekend. So I think I will head back out to the Alvord that weekend. Unless the weather turns seriously crappy. I have never soaked at the Alvord Hot Springs, so I think it's high time I did. I plan on trailering the 450 out and camping in that area and rod around the playa/sand dunes area. Anyone interested?
