I need a heavier spring for my 625's rear shock. (I'm not fat, Yeti's are just big dudes.
) I've gone on a few websites and no one seems to list the 625. I've heard 625's are rare beasties, but no springs?? ![]() Has anyone had any luck getting a heavier weight spring for the 625? (Fwiw, I'm 225# without gear.) Thanks! Edit: Did some more research. The stock spring is a 63-260. For someone my weight (225#) the recommended spring is 70-260 which is the stock spring for the 2005 640 Adventure. The Adventure also had 66-260 and 75-260 springs available for it. Given that I run my bike with the big ol' tank on it and am planning on Adventurizing it, I think I'm going to go with the 75-260. Especially since I plan to carry soft luggage. (Yes, I have a beefed up rear subframe.)

Vapor
Hey guys, me again.
You were so helpful before I figured I'd give you a shout and see if you can point me in the right direction. Just bought a Vapor and didn't really take into account that the SXC uses the current instrument panel to hold the ignition switch. Have any of you installed a Vapor on your SXC? Any advice? Did you relocate the ignition switch? The rest of the installation seems pretty straightforward ![]() Excited to have a tach and know my temps

I run an even heavier spring
Quote:
The dealer found a spring strong enough for me (but I was told it was hard to get installed on the shock. I am running an Elbach 0900.225.0450 (I think this is a product link) Here is the spring.

Bike's out of a coma!
I bought a 625 SXC from a bike mechanic. Right after I bought it, it wouldn't start anymore. So, I sent it to a different mechanic. That mechanic gave up, and so did the 2nd mechanic. 6 months later, she comes out of the coma. After swapping out almost everything immaginable. Still... if I have to hold in the decomp lever to start her, does that mean my auto. decomp. is broke? Anyway, someone please do me a favor, and watch the video below (me riding her after fiddling with the RPMs & Fuel Ratio) and let me know if it sounds like anything is still wrong. Mucho thanks-oh.

About a month ago I came off my bike, broke the clutch line, so I've now fixed that, bled the clutch system with new oil and added a 17 Litre tank.. test ride around the block, started first time after sitting for a month, woohoo!!

I just picked up a 2004 last week (I started my own thread because I didn't see this one). I love the bike. My first project is the cush wheel as this bike will be seeing some pavement and I don't want to break anything (only has 2,900 miles on it).
Here's a photo of her...

You need to order the left hand peg mounting bracket for the 2005 or later 640 Adventure in order to have the pegs work...

Howdy. Can any of you guys with tank conversions take a look at my thread: http://advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=880371
Having a problem with the fit on a 2004 SXC w/ a 11L Tank and what I thought would be a compatible seat. The seat just needs a little too much flexing and wrestling to get it on - just doesn't seem to fit nicely like the ones in the pictures in this thread. Quick synapsis for those who don't want to click thru to see the pics: "The Parts:2004 KTM SXC 625 |
