Crap.. sorry to hear that Rob.. I broke mine back in 09 when I was Tboned by a car. My advice is dont push the comeback too hard... I thought it was pretty cool that four weeks after breaking my collarbone and three ribs I was playing in a golf tournament.. well it turns out that even though it didnt hurt too bad, I never gave my clavicle time to heal and it never stitched.. so I guess technically I still have a broke collarbone... so give it some time.

I just slid out a turn and kind of fell back. Normally no big deal, but the helmet is what caused the isolated pressure point on my bone. Here's a nice cringe worthy picture.

Damn kid,, you broke it good. Do they open you up to repair a break like that? It seems too far out of alignment to try pushing it back into place and hoping it heals on it's own.. If your doctor thinks a "bone growth stimulator" is a good idea I have one you can use.. I think the bill to my insurance co. for the unit was just under a ridiculous $5K of which insurance covered most of it but I still got hit with a bill for well over $500 after the insurance coverage.. here's a link...

More gear. Its another unpleasant reminder that we need more protection when riding, seems like you cant have too much. Along with the standards consider knee braces, elbow guards, rib shirt, neck protector, etc...

Ask any rider about any piece of gear they are wearing and the story is always the same... "it saved my this or that".

Evidence is clear. Im buying more (sorry to lecture).

Damn thats an ugly break.

I've been on the fence whether or not to get a neck brace, as they look like a real PIA...but edging closer to one now.

I ride with a leatt all the time. both street and dirt. i have a fairly long neck so i dont even notice Im wearing it. I think some with shorter necks may find them more uncomfortable

Man .. that looks like it could use surgery... docs never want to do surgery for clavicles... but surgery will cut your recovery time in half.

Oh crap Rob!It looks like you going to need some titanium hardware like I still have and few years later my screws are backing out,hope you heal up easyer than I did...sleeping on the lazyboy for weeks was not fun
