Clermont to St Augustine
I'm in Clermont for a day or two then heading to St Augustine, I know it's Fla and riding is limited at best, but any routes from here to there that offer at least a little something to look at? Also....anything I should be sure to see while in St Augustine? Thanks

Some of the better roads in Central Fl. IIRC mostly pavement unless you take the Fort gates Ferry to cross the St. Johns on the Ferry @ C. The Ferry road can be very sandy. FR88 is improved dirt. If you cross the river take r 305 to Espanola for the old brick road.
D is the old Dixie Hwy from the 20's one lane brick road is mostly covered with deep sand. Pass on both the Ferry and Old dixie unless you have good sand skills. Pm me for .gpx tracks View Untitled in a larger map jaydee1445 screwed with this post 02-12-2013 at 05:46 AM |

Without too many detours, this is the path I typically take. It includes some of the better parts of the Ocala National Forest as well as downtown Palatka (a cool town) and the back way into St. Augustine.
