Gs 700 From 1200Gs

Sold my GS bike I have owned. A great Machine. To much money sitting in garage not riding as much as it needed. Went to IMS in Novi yesterday and was impressed with the GS 700. But will I be happy with it's performance and ride on the road. I will be 80/20 Road/dirt rd...Price seems OK but I am wondering who has made a change like that 1200-to-700 and what they say about it?
Or Honda CB 500X !?

I went to the show on Saturday. It was good to see so many people. The place was packed.

Go test ride one at the dealer in Canton. Good folks there. I think a quick ride will tell you a lot.

I went from a R1100RT to a F650gs. Was going to buy an new R1200RT or maybe a R1200GS...but both just seemed to big and bulky(R1200RT) and the seat way to high on the R1200GS.

After talking with my dealer, he suggested taking teh F650GS for a ride. I did and bought it. It is about the same size and weight of original R100RT...but the motor has more power....same ergonomics....nice up right seating and my knees are not cramped up.

I like to tour long distance on secondary back roads and dirt roads. This bike is perfect for that. got over 30k miles with no problems. Got aeroflow winds screen and jesse bag and last summer put on a wilber rear shock. The new F700GS has ESA which I think is a great can change the settings....for riding solo or when the bags are loaded with stuff on a long tour.

Handles the paved twisties great! Handle dirt roads great. Have done several 500+ days. gets great mileage.

It is better bike for me than the R1200...the way BMW has chosen to set up the 1200s.
