Found a second CL ad. It's got 81,000 miles. Not a lot for this bike/price.

I know lotsa people who would say that 81K on a well-maintained Oilhead is low mileage

1981 Honda CR125 resto-mod - $3500 (Orange park/ argyle)

Serious question, is there an 80s vintage dirt bike market?

Early and late 70's is where it's at. Post-81 stuff is mostly irrelevant and, while not worthless, not as desirable as the older stuff. Some of the big bore Suzukis and Hondas (480, 490 and 500s) gather some bucks when in mint, original condition. Otherwise, not really valuable. There is a guy in Deltona who wheels and deals in some nicer two-strokes.

The 81 Honda's were troublesome, and then some. They had a tendency to become moving grenades as the water pump cover/propeller were made from steel. They tended to rust up and cause a lot of issues.

That thing, to the right person, is maybe worth $2100. $3500 is bonkers.

Same trick my buddy used.
His wife wanted him to sell his 636. So he listed it for about $1500 more than it was worth.

One of two things happens, you find someone more in love with it than you or you get to keep it.

Exactly.
Three years later, he all so still has the bike. But not her.
