Which is what I have now. I was thinking of trying full soft compression with standard rebound... Looking at other videos seemed like that was being used to maintain control after a bump... How do you have yours setup?

They are speaking of your compression and rebound settings on your forks and shock. Usually a screw type adjuster on either the top or bottom of your forks. Sometimes both. They click when you turn them. In/clockwise for increased compression or rebound, which will result in a harsher ride.Or out / counterclockwise to decrease compression/rebound for a softer ride.
The shock adjusters are sometimes a little harder to find , but they should be there, if so equipped.

Personally, I've never clicked my adjusters. I have heard though, that a good way to get a feel for it - is to start by figuring out and writing down what you have now, then go to a place that you can do some short laps. Go full hard on the adjusters, then go full soft, just so you can feel the difference. Then change them so they feel better. It sounded logical enough to me, maybe someday I'll give it a try.

that same site offered up this for my town via the NWS's Winter Storm Watch: "THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN UPTON HAS ISSUED A WINTER STORM WATCH...WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM FRIDAY AFTERNOON THROUGH SATURDAY AFTERNOON. * LOCATIONS...INTERIOR SOUTHERN CONNECTICUT. * HAZARD TYPES...HEAVY SNOW...SLEET...AND FREEZING RAIN. * ACCUMULATIONS...SNOW ACCUMULATION OF 18 TO 24 INCHES...ALONG WITH AROUND A TENTH OF AN INCH OF ICE. * WINDS...NORTH 20 TO 30 MPH WITH GUSTS UP TO 60 MPH. " I'm into the snow. Bring it on! I just want to avoid any crossover into rain / sleet because if that happens there will be a lot of power outages in my 'hood...

Good point... that site does show an inch rain friday night... this could be a repeat of that ice storm we had last year (or the year before..)... the western part of RI didn't get power for a least a week..

Unfortunatly, I'm out flying the friendly skies, leaving Mrs TMLee to fend for herself.
Supposed to fly into Boston tomorrow evening, we will see.

I just took a short walk into the yard to measure the snow thus far.. I slipped into my touring boots to do so and at 13" tall they weren't tall enough to keep the snow out. I measured 15" at 7:50pm in a flat spot in the middle of the walkway between my apt and my car..
it's a legit snowstorm! I'm anxiously anticipating tomorrow morning and seeing how much we actually get.. Rob, don't attempt any shoveling tomorrow!

Just ordred a set of Kenda 270's for the Husky. $102 bucks for the pair delivered. Everything I've read has been positive. Everyone seems to like them as a great 50/50 tire. Anyone here have any reviews of them? For the price, I figure they are worth a try.

I haven't tried them, but they are very popular with the DR650 guys. They will be good for everything except mud. I mean the cake frosting stuff. I think you'll like them on the big TE.
