Trivia Question:
You are a TD. Sniping. You have a Tier 8 heavy hiding behind you, doing nothing (It was a T32 or T34 I think?). He keeps bumping you in fact when you are shooting. Your team gets rolled... there is only the two of you left. You have are almost dead and he is full health. How big do you think the fine is going to be?

Someone ass-grinding you while you're trying to aim is one of the most heinous forms of dickery in the game. It either demonstrates a complete lack of understanding of tank mechanics (kid playing on dad's account?) or an intentional desire to be an asshole.
Rather than take the loss for the emotional win, I'll just leave the battle (can I wedge the asshole up against a rock first?) and go play another tank. I don't have time for that shit.

Anyone have any advice for how to deal with biting off more than you can chew?
I get target fixated, or over eager. When I realize there is more than the one tank I originally thought there was, I can't stop myself, I'll keep right on heading for it, then his team mates kill me. I am amazed when I hear about people killing more than three tanks in a battle. Even when I'm trying to lurk about unseen I get found. I'll pick up a headset next time I have a chunk of time to play, maybe I can platoon with some of you and get some coaching. I got the Steel Wall and the Spartan award in the same match tonight. I am good at getting shot.

I had multiple 3 and 4 kill losses, because my team folded around me....however, I did get to school a 43% KV-5 player in my final battle of the night to get the win.

![]() I try to pay attention to everything, but generally fail miserably. I like platooning, but I doubt I'm much help there either. The company battles are great fun too, kind of like a virtual tank/ADV/motorcycle rally. Jumped in the T25at got a win, then to the M40/43 (so I can get the T92 BIG BOOMSTICK ) and got a win. Cromwell? 2 losses then a win (rammed an ARL44 in Widepark for 500 damage ). SU 100 win. I wanted to stay on longer, but had the Boy Scout court of honor last night. My son got selected to go to NYLT and elected Troop Guide for all the incoming scouts next week. |

Another thing that helps me when I'm playing solo and I'm being too aggressive, is run a really slow tank. |

Rebuild with some new parts in your old desk top. I'm doing mine in steps... starting with a power supply I just ordered from NewEgg.com. I may put it in later today.
My video card is from 2011, so it's the newest part in the desktop - and will be the last part to change out. I may go for a motherboard, chip and RAM next. --------- What do the odds become when two platoons of three each, all from the same clan, somehow time in to get into the same tier-8 team? I think that we can guess they're all on the same TeamSpeak as well... so now it's an organized and very capable force of tough American armor. ![]() Notice I'm in one of the slowest tier 8 tanks in the game - a T34 - yet the teammates who came east by and large are well behind me in trying to take the church. This had me worried. But then... despite all the organizing and the advantages they brought with them, six teammates could not roll a random pub match ![]() ![]() This just shouldn't happen. It doesn't matter that they don't have good win ratios... what matters is simply working together, pushing together, and calling out targets to focus fire - even if you do lose. Somehow six of them failed at even that. I wish I would have taken a shot of XVM for the next battle. My platoon mates and I noted that our team was all red or orange, while the enemy team was "better" with most at 50%. My initial thought was to hang back, but a trusted friend (BeepBeep) suggested pushing in together despite not having a team worth anything. So we rushed in and took a stance. Two facing one way, me facing the other, and all of a sudden their whole platoon of the Ferdinand, Black Prince, and Tiger II come in to the city and all start focusing on me. I lived by luck and by my platoon. Actually, my platoon mate in the T34 was bouncing shots off of the Ferdi... I was sure I was going to die with those three working against us and focusing fire. Combined we did 8,430 damage... and that turned the tide:

Dave, given their win rates and performance, I would say that they most likely don't even understand the concept of focus fire and how to use teamwork within this game. Their version of teamwork was probably to all be beside each other trying to jockey back and forth to play peek-a-boo around the same corner. Seen it happen so many times that it doesn't surprise me any more.
