Classic out for me
Hi all.
Back from the Snowy Ride in NSW, in late November early December great ride. Three day ride starting from Tom Groggin Station riding through single & twin track to Omeo which was our base for two days, returning to Tom Groggin & the vehicles on day 3. Not without carnage, myself at end of day one, (left shoulder) but managed the other two days, and another rider day two dislocating his thumb rather badly necessitating a mercy dash / ride to Bairnsdale for X-rays and relocation of the offending digit. Made it back to the cars and drove home, (two days) bourbon is a great pain killer, (but not whilst driving of course), I never drink and drive / ride I always end up spilling it!?! Had a great ride in some spectacular country, still cool riding, (it snowed at one of the lookouts)! Crossed countless flowing creeks, drowned a few bikes, (not the unstoppable DRZ), magic riding on loam single track and twin track, some rock stuff like the Flinders as well. After returning home, some physio the offending shoulder showed no signs of recovery, off to the doc, ultrasounds, x-rays, specialist, MRI & $$$ later, the specialist says my shoulders stuffed! Torn all ligaments / muscle over the top half so reconstructive surgery is next on my list of things to do, oh joy & a lengthy recovery. I can still ride the bike but have to lift my left arm onto the bars with my right arm??!!?? Well doc says no riding for a while. ![]() Feeling a bit depressed about the whole thing, the only consoling factor being that according to the specialist I did about 50% of the damage about three years ago so this off was just the “straw that broke the camel’s back”. Found out Wednesday when the surgery is, (two days in hospital), still a novelty, I’m 51 and never been to hospital ever! Well once 51 years ago don’t, remember that? This puts me out of the Classic Trev, so my bunk is up for grabs in the dorm if anyone wants it. Pissed off about the Classic but that’s the least of my worries at present, I’m looking at 6 weeks in a sling & 8-12 months not working and no bikes, so I’m out of the picture for a while, thinking about selling bikes and re purchasing in a year or so. Anyway have a good Classic all. Cheers bwvtom |

Sounds a fantastic ride. Hope you took lots of piccies, so can relive the enjoyment of the ride and not the pain, during rehabilitation ![]() All the best with the op.

Another one
Trev could you add another person to the dorm list for FSS. Managed to persuade a colleague of mine to join in. He's a very experienced rider who's also an alcoholic insomniac. He should fit in fine.
Any prob's let me know cheers BR

The big pisser is the recovery time after the op. Cheers Brett |

Just a reminder that there is a cabin available due to Bergdonk's knee op and being unable to attend. Ring Angorichina Village direct to book it if it suits you. Camping is great but we haven't had a wet Classic yet!
Let us know on here if you grab it. Only a bit over seven weeks to go.........

I've been through the PAR's when wet and it's great fun, it's just the camping that could be a PITA. The new 'beer garden' should take care of the evening activities if damp.........

I have no problem with that Macca, it's got to better than last year when 15 or so just didn't turn up, at least we're getting apologies......plans change, sh*t happens. There will still be over 100 there....have you tried cooking 350 slices of steakettes, 250 snags and slicing/cooking 15 kg of onions???????? I don't mind if a few drop off....
