Iceland 2013

Hello all,

it seems there is no thread for 2013 yet, so who's going this year?

After our trip in 2011 I'm in love with this island, so I'm considering a return. Nothing is carved in stone yet, but my idea would be July / August by ferry from Danmark with 2 weeks on Iceland and a focus on the highlands. So far, my vacation hasn't been approved yet.
Last time we were struggling a bit with the heavyweight GS bikes, so I'd bring a 650 this time. For the river crossings it is saver to have company, but 2 long days on the ferry should be more than enough to find someone to team up.

Oh, this year's bike has much less dead weight, even with full camping gear:

I'm planning to be going out on 6 August sailing from Hirtshals, back on the 15 August sailing from Seyðisfjörður. My clients seem to be planning for me not to be doing that.

I still want to go and hope to have my vacation (end of July / early August) approved by the end of February. Will post here once I know more. Maybe we have the same clients ...
