Got one of Pete's beauties (the original I think - he's moved onto 690RRs) having used the BDCW bashie for a few years without any issues. I'm not sure if he's still doing them but we should be getting the weight off these big bikes, not adding to it with massive bashplates and crashbars? pretty [pleased with my weld 86. it was a little cheaper than the BD, i really like the unfinished finish. seems really well built so far!

I imagine your friend nailed that rock pretty dang hard. I've had some super tough hits and came out unscathed.my biggest beef with the stock plate is it holds mud too much. Cleaning it is a pain. Aftermarkets look easier to flush out.

Now who makes the best cup holder? Y'all.
