Worked on my 75 kawasaki 250 and took it for a quick (around the block) shakedown.... Timing is off, clutch plates are seized together... But its running, so thats progress...whaddaya expect from a $200 bike?

I have a co-worker that is looking to start riding. He has ZERO experience and a budget of ~$1500. Not looking for a jewel, just a mechanically sound street legal bike.

If anyone is upgrading this year and is looking to get rid of an old dual-sport bike, please let me know. We're in Columbus, so Barth., Brown, Morgan, Jennings, Jackson and Johnson counties would be easiest to get to.

I have been eyeing this little jewel http://louisville.craigslist.org/mcy/3588366233.html this would make a great starter. Kick start only but thats not a bad thing.

those are great bikes but it's not a "drz" as listed. it's a dr350s, which means it is street legal and kick only. kick is not that bad... for some people!

cuz... well, some people just can't get it. once you get what the bike likes... it's pretty easy.

but for that price... he needs to have clear title in hand, and everything should work... and have a full tank of fuel... and give ya a kiss on the mouth.

I was out on the WRR and rode about 45 miles. I think I saw 50 degrees and it really felt good. The east side of Indy doesn't have any gravel roads or hills but just getting out in the country was nice.

rode into work and home around 9p and it was STILL a great ride after dark! having only a 5mph wind helps a ton.

not again tho until it gets back up to 60 again..then its all good.

agree with tpar. I have owned two dr350s (still have one, in washington state tho) and that price is high. And ur bud might be better starting off with e-start because you want to entice him in with lots of pure no hassle fun and get him hooked so you get another riding bud for life!

I've got a model 60 on my WR and it puts the HID headlight to shame...fire it up and it's daylight out. I gout a pair of them that my dad has mounted on his Dakar now too. Super awesome little units.

High for Louisville yesterday was officially 67'F.
I got home from work, got my cruiser out (it was mad at me, I hadnt sit on it for over a month), ensured the tires had correct tire pressure and rode for about an hour in my neighborhood. Got home and got the baby beemer out and rode around my 10 mile block. Got it home and did some chain maintenance-amazed at what high humidity will do to a chain-even it it is properly lubed.
