Didn't find your bike, but you'll be happy to know that the seat from your old bike—along with the KDX it's attached to—is singing like a whippoorwill these days. It was finally warm enough to go out and play with the jetting today. Dropped the pilot two sizes, the main one size, fiddled with the air screw and result. It's got a nice kick right off idle and pulls strong all the way up. What a difference.

Good because Buzz promised me I could ride it. Since i've never ridden a motorcycle before, this should be fun!

Inept told me once that it's a great learner bike because "It'll learn ya"

I knew it was set up a little fat, and with the fresh top end I was ok with that. Now that you got it screaming we'll need some video

As I recall, yer KTM 200 also got nicknamed the "Learner Bike" at SweatFest II

Either way, the KDX has got just enough power to get ya in a lotta trouble and hurt ya, really bad...although I still say yer 220 that got ripped off was the most user-friendly sweetheart of a dirtbike I've ever ridden. In my life. It was magic.

I was planning on buying that bike

Thing is it's usable power that comes on in a predictable manner. It doesn't rip your arms off, it just kind of urges you to gas it because you'll have plenty of time to slow down for that (circular) corner coming up and you need to keep the front end light over those rocks anyway, right?

FWIW I set it up with a trials bike type power delivery in mind and did not follow the typical KDX tuning wisdom.

Its not a race bike, but I thought it worked perfect for a play bike.

Indeed it did work perfect...I like strong low-end grunt, and am willing to give up high-RPM peak HP to get it; in fact, the older I get, the more I dislike revving the berries out of a motor, I'd rather be able to short-shift and still maintain a semblance of acceleration. You set that motor up just the way I like 'em

You are right. I did nothing but some very minor tweaks and adjusted the ergos a bit for an actual human sized person

My 2 cents on the KDX

I spent a year racing the 200 KDX in the SERA enduro circuit and loved it. You all know the stories about the KDX. I also had the pleasure to meet and ride with Jeff Fredette, Mr. ISDE. Mr KDX. Jeff rebuilt my 200 to a 220 and "breathed on the suspension" as only an experienced guy can do.

The 220 was "slower" and yet times to checkpoints was much FASTER. Awesome bike to compete with, but not awesome when a buddy rides it.... if that makes sense.

I rode a KDX for over 30 races and had only one DNF. My fault not the machine.

Truely awesome scoot.

And may the thief who stole Buzzs die in a fire....

Legal in Arkansas

Fooled ya! You thought this post was about marrying your cousin. It ain't. That's actually not legal in Arkansas, but it is Florida (accord to Inept, esq. the source of all my legal advice).

No sir, this post is about STREET-LEGAL TWO STROKES! Specifically, street-legal KDXs! I know of two in this here state, and one's got my name on the title, BITCHES!.

Sure, I had to steal Buzz's bike, hide out for a few years, get him to buy another one, have him sell me that one, switch the parts over and then march down to the tag office and some 'splainin', but a man's got to do what a man's got to do to fool The Man into letting a man have a damn street-legal two stroke. It ain't easy being environmentally offensive. But I take pride in my work.

Think I'm gonna take this baby on a long road trip.

In closing, let me reiterate: I GOT A STREET LEGAL TWO STROKE, NAH NAH NAH NAH NAH NAH.
