Did you swap the starter out of the R65, or has Schmidtty always have a Bosch starter while you've had him?

I was just about to say it's a Valerie cos I distinctly remember seeing the bearing saying 'made in Spain' but had to recheck. Anyway yeah i haven't changed them over. Isn't Valeo the better more up to date starter?

Boschs have always been fully rebuildable. Up until the last few years, the Valeos were a throw away item. Do you have a mount on the timing case to support the front of the starter? That should be there...The Valeos don't have those because weight wasn't such an issue. |

Hmm lets see at last look Schmidt was wearing
Lifan front guard Suzuki GSXR front brake caliper KLR 650 Clutch perch, front brake MC & lever, seat, wiring loom Yamaha R1 exhaust Methven choke controls A pretty good even mixture i thought The only ones being left out are Honda & KTM. Oh well I'm sure they'll be alright knowing they're missing out. Finished my tool roll too. Now to make up the saddle bags. I'm thinking western style ![]() Quote:
I'm still waiting for my gearbox bits to come back from the machine shop - after a month. I may have to stop being mr laid-back 'just do it when you have time, no urgent hurry etc etc' as it always seems to backfire on me. If it's not done next week I may have to do the humiliating go in & pick it up & take it to someone else thing. The gaiter is still ripped to shreds & the duct tape has come off so I will have to retape it till my gearbox is ready to be reinstalled. |

That was pretty cool, never seen that before. Can you please stop posting those old music vids? because everytime you do i end up spending hours watching all the other ones that pop up afterwards, and I need my beauty sleep. .The Janis Joplin and Jim Steinman interviews were particular hilights. |

Driving home from work the other afternoon & I spy this silhouette of a bike sweeping around corner towards me. Dunno what it was that attracted my attention to it but it looked very cool. The bars were wide, the riders sleeves were flapping furiously as he rode maniacally hunched against the wind towards me at a fast pace.
'Ahhhh old school stuff ' I smiled to myself as he roared up. A flash of red & blue on the tank & those great girthy cyclinders were beside me. Half a second later he disappeared from my rear vision mirror. I smiled all the way home. |
