I love the critical decision-making you have to make on solo trips. "Pura vida!" what else can you say?

Great that you got some moose photos! I find animals are long gone by the time I get the camera out.

Those Martin Mars bombers are fantastic, I remember them flying extremely low overhead while landing on Cowichan Lake.

My uncle knows one of the matainance crew, he says when they fly out away from home base, they carry four spare engines in the hold. For every 24hours of flight, they swap them out and the engines need to be completely rebuilt!
I just noticed your comment. I've been following your ride religiously. One of the best !! As you're about to head to Colombia (I'm assuming), you should check out my ride report of the country (linky below).

Engine swap every 24 hours!? Wow, that's worse than a KTM! (ducking for cover )

Just found this RR, it's Great!

Good job, Calrider! Lovely country. I did a road ride in that area a few years ago and wondered what the backroads were like. Yet another destination to add to the list. Good on ya for going when you can, please be cautious when it's solo. Real adventurers are a rare commodity indeed.

Thanks for the comment Dave. Glad you liked it! Your neck of the woods has some nice riding too as far as I can tell. Don't know if I'd call myself a "real adventurer". Just a guy that likes the woods and likes riding and combines the two for some good times.

See you on the trails!

Excellent stuff! As much as I enjoy photos from locations I long to visit which I haven't yet, I greatly enjoy reports from places I know quite well. I find they bring back warm memories and take me back there for a return visit. I'm grateful to those of you who provide that comfort on a morning with new snow on the ground.

Living in the subtropics of Canada (eastern Ontario on the shore of Lake Ontario) our riding season is thankfully underway.

I was in the Ganaraska Forest earlier in the week and took this photo with the local ski "bump" in the background.

Nice to see someone doing it up in the local back country! I did the BC roads a few times, but only paved ones on sport bikes.... and have about 2000$ worth of speeding tickets to show for... In Nelson, I highly recommend the backpacker's hostel which has a really "special" smoke room. ;)

Keep up the awesome riding!

Pics are back again... There were hosted on my own website and I had transferred them to another server that cared whether the URLs were upper or lower case.

Enjoy!
