Yes we have talked Bill into a few rides. Went out to Yellowstone with him in '09 and he was our guide on this one.

The KLR used to be a bluish original, but it was stored for a while and the gas tank was rusty. He put the ims tank on it and then took all the bits off and painted them. His choices were John Deere green or Caterpillar yellow.

Yellow kind of fits the KLR don't it.

I used Krylon fusion on my aftermarker fender...it was a perfect match for the Aztec Red, and has never chipped. Amazing paint

Ok question for you. This picture of you fishing on the rock. It this the Pipestone? If so is this near the campsite on south side of road where it crosses the river. My guess would be the campsite is in the picture, the point on the left upper section of picture.

Osnaburgh is not that bad, in fact the locals seem to love motorcycle riders and will "thumbs up" you as you pass, but there not much in Oz to see, so really no reason why anyone would stop in the first place.

Fishing is out of this world, any place every cast.

You will see a lot of this

We went in July but the weather was unseasonably coolish so no fly problems at all. There is a great camping spot at Menakos Lakes. Lots of fuel and supplies available at Pickle Lake.

The end of the dock at Windigo, as far north as you can drive in Ontario

The road is a lot like his

Campsite at Menakos

Fuel and supply stop at the Frontier Mart in Pickle. You have to go downtown Pickle to get beer.

Road to Musslewhite mine ZZR_Ron works up the road from here.

So did the question get answered? I *think* this is the furthest North I could go on a V-Strom with Battlewing tires -- true?

I'm pretty sure that's the mine site. It is gated/secured and ZZR_ron indicated you could be 1/2 dead and they wouldn't let you in (Gold mine).

Windigo lake is the furthest North you can get. http://goo.gl/maps/qNmBD

Went there last year...

Don't forget to visit the ghosttown along the way...

The mine is a fair ways in. I was there to find materials to build that road back in the early 80's. Was just a winter road before that. I plan on getting back up there either this year or next.

Does Fort Severn/Peawanuck count if I cheat by driving through Manitoba?
