That's true. They're €4.80 for a ten-day MC vignette that you stick to your fairings somewhere on the front. They sell them in at least three gas stations between Passau and the border (as well as at the border I think), so you just pull in and get gas and a vignette. You can also get it at the first station in Austria - you'd be unlucky to be checked before that. Only time I was checked in five+ years was last year when they corralled everyone at the border (exiting Austria) and checked that you had it as you drove past.

All motorways requiring the vignette are marked. Please be aware that they're using fixed camera systems to check on vignettes which you might not even notice. If you'd be from Switzerland or Germany they would even get your money, after you've arrived back home.

€4.80 is not a issue. More worried about the time i need to find a place i can buy it. But sounds like thats easy.
€4.80 is nothing, Anyone ever been to Norway with a car will know. But here bikes dont pay anything. One of the few things thats cheeper in Norway |

Highway information
On friday I will try to do a saddle score for Iron Butt. Anyone know what this streach of road is like? Any roadworks or other things i should know about?
