Off topic a little; I'm not sure Faria is as fast as Depres (or say, Helder) but then Cyril started as a water carrier with KTM. For sure Faria deserves a decent shot.

Its all interesting stuff, but I believe Ruben is older than Cyril, so unless there is a forced space it seems unlikely that KTM will go that route in the medium to long term, but in the short term for 2014 who knows or what the next weeks are going to unveil?

Not 100% yet but from what I hear, Cyril's contract with KTM is over and the details with HRC are being finalized.

I don't hate Despres at all. I respect how hard he prepares and performs, and I'm happy for him that he won again. But I wasn't rooting for him.

But if he's racing the Dakar next year on a Honda, I suspect I'll find myself rooting for him. Wow, I didn't see that coming.

Will he have Honda/Red Bull sponsorship?

Do you think his ego (professional competitiveness) will let him quit on 5 wins when SP had 6 on 2 wheels? Accordingly I would suspect that if he is leaving KTM then the rumours about KTM continuing with a factory team in the Dakar may be true though?

If I remember rightly he signed a 2 year deal in 2011 which would expire later this year, so maybe there are a few open doors
