Easy , peasy. It has a bit more slab than I like, but I will remedy that on some future rides but for this ride will keep it simple.

Even so, that is impressive. As a 50 year old, could I ask what your secret is to gaining this kind of longevity? I gotta admit, the trail from from Afton to Laughlin and back in two days on a KTM 950 made me feel like I'd been run over by a truck by Monday.

My 2 cents. To some extent life if what ever God gives us. It's up to us what we do with it. He has given me so much throughout my life the rest is up to me. This 72 year old retired Teamster, truck driver, far to the left, liberal motorcycle rider has had a very lucky life. A few health issues but nothing that has stopped me from riding. Grew up in Hawthorne CA & lived in LA area all my life until moving to AZ in 97. Never smoked & will have a beer or two on ocasion. No secret really just stay as fit as you can & ride as often as you can. Your mind set towards ageing I think is key. Forget about it I know TMI but hope this explains it a bit. I try & avoid stress unless it's really warented. This really helps.

Sounds like a fun ride. If we took a few days with camping along the way, might even be relaxing. Seems like time of year will affect the sand/mud factors. We're looking at March.

Just don't follow me through the sandwash on the XR400.

South of Baker it is extremely rocky and near the Soda Dry Lake, you can have some pretty deep ruts with mud in them. The closer you get to Laughlin, the bigger the rocks and boulders get.

You could do it, just have some help along with you.

We did it last year. I rode out from Las Vegas to meet the LA crew in Barstow. Then we rode to Laughlin and Needles, then I rode back to Las Vegas.
