Crap!!!
Hey guys I had a quick question, I was cleaning my chain today and after using a chain cleaner and I accidentally put Foam Cleaner instead of chain wax like I usually do. I didnt know what to do so i cleaned the chain the best i could with a rag and then started all over with more chain cleaner to hopefully get the foam cleaner out and then put on some chain wax. My question is, is the foam cleaner going to mess up my chain? Its an o-ring chain. I didnt spray the entire chain because I caught myself about halfway through. Should I be concerned?

I know old guys who clean their o-ring chains with kerosene, and then lube them--I doubt your foaming cleaner is more caustic to the rings than that. I wouldn't worry about it. Unless one of the sage motorsyklers here have a horror story they want to scare you with.
The chain failures I've had always seem to announce their arrival well ahead of time with loud noises and squawking. |
