If the guys on dual sports got hassled by somebody then they know who it is.Are there expensive houses nearby?Or some homeless tree hugger living in a non-running vw bus?I ride alot by myself and think I will be packing soon.I see a business opportunity here.Upper body armour with built in holster.Hopefully who ever it is wont start dropping nails or tie piano wire between trees or signs.

that blows betadog,,,,, vandalism is the main reason i dont like leaving my truck out there.

i say the best thing to do is "hire" someone to camp out and watch the place from afar with good bino's and a camera with telephoto lens. if you can get the person in the act then lawsuits and legal action are in the bag, get your money back for tires and "private surveillance". ect. if its a local resident it would totally be premeditated, and that might be a felony offense.

Not wishing any more misfortune on you, but I wonder why they didn't slash the trailer tires.

That really perplexed me as well! And it would have been an extrem hassle if they did. Maybe it was because it was a brand new Kendon trailer and even this scumbag couldn't do that?

One of the other trucks that got all 4 tires slashed had those expensive "Baja" tires that he said cost $800 each. He was extremely pissed.

Mentioned this to the Cosco tire store manager who also rides offroad. He said he has known of instances where someone has strung barbed wire at neck level. If so, this is definately a deranged individual/s we're dealing with.

It is as far as you can go north on 136th Street which is north of Rio Verde (what Dynamite is called east of Pima). There is actually a Tonto NF parking area (where this occured) complete with a kiosk with OHV maps. Although on this day I took my RZR, but there is some great singletrack trails in that area.

A ghillie suit, a .45, a big strong buddy, and a bag of zip ties should go a long way to solve this problem.

That's exactly the place. I would assume it is a resident of one of the 3 surrounding homes. Ironically, we have friends that used to live in one of those homes - the "Y" shaped one with white roof. Not them since they moved to PA about 7 years ago.

The thing they always taught us when I went through all of the criminal investigation classes is that if you are working on a case and they used a shot gun you might as well forget about a conviction without rock solid witnesses. They don't leave ballistic evidence due to the smooth bore. The other thing I learned is that there are likely as many .22 cal long rifle weapons in this country as there are people. If I were to approach a nefarious do badder I do believe that I would want to use a weapon that would have a much greater chance of anonymity.

If you could just get video of the person vandalizing anything than going home. It could be a very good thing when they are trying to shut down that area and call all of us off roaders “the bad guys”

Just get that video and give a copy to the police.

Latest development: Got a call from a Sheriff investigator this evening. Since most of us victims have been good about getting back to them about the cost to replace the tires, it has passed the threshold of felony vandelism with a deadly weapon (or somethng like that) and they are going to actually go after the culprit. Said they would begin by questioning the three adjoining residents and devote resources to possibly stake out the area. In regards to the sign, he said he would verify that it is indeed a public road and have the sign removed.

Does it classify as a federal crime since it happened on federal property?
