Have a look to the Distech rebuild also

Talking Does This Count?

Tried to put one together that would be aggressive in the dirt, AND carry weight for touring. Here is the result.

Acerbis 5.3 Gallon Fuel Tank
Corbin Seat
HDB Billet Handguard and top clamp set
Renthal Fatbar Handlebars
Sun Rims (black, Complete)
Dunlop D606 Tires (with custom yellow lettering)
Cyclop Motorsports H4 Rally Headlight
Wolfman Sideracks (no longer in production)
Wolfman Top Rack
DR250 Flush Taillight Conversion
Double Take RAM Mount Mirrors
Digital Instrument Cluster
Black Body panel kit
.55 Race Tech Straight Rate Springs
8.3 kg/mm Rear Shock Spring

It's been a great bike, but I think its time to get a new project.

it's a good looking bike. stock suspension is garbage in the dirt though and add weight from gear and it's even worse.

I agree. The suspension upgrade was the first thing I did. .55 straight rate springs on the front, and 8.3 kg/mm spring in the rear.

Thumb

I do love it. More fun than any bike I've had. But it is done now, and I am looking for a new project. So it is looking for a new owner.

quasi - Nicely done! Only recommendation is to add a piece onto the rear of the bash plate and bolt into the stock holes on the frame. That plate has ruined more than one center case as the mount bolts can punch through if they take a hit.

I witnessed one on a ride - oil pouring out on the trail - not fun.

This is one thing I like about the DR....watching everyone make them their own.

I'm more envious of bustedsprocket's pic - out on the trail.
