Clermont to St Augustine

I'm in Clermont for a day or two then heading to St Augustine, I know it's Fla and riding is limited at best, but any routes from here to there that offer at least a little something to look at? Also....anything I should be sure to see while in St Augustine? Thanks

Here's a route for ya, somewhat direct, it'll take longer than the slab but is nearly all back roads most of which are fun with some decent scenery. And a 2nd for Osteen's, might be the world's best fried shrimp. Also, a few miles after you turn left onto A1A is Snack Jack's (High Tides) on the ocean, it's not too bad either.

Howie in the hills

Take SR-19 north through the Ocala Nat'l Forest to Palatka and then over to Hastings

You'll pass within spittin distance of The Scrub there in Salt Springs

Some of the better roads in Central Fl. IIRC mostly pavement unless you take the Fort gates Ferry to cross the St. Johns on the Ferry @ C. The Ferry road can be very sandy. FR88 is improved dirt. If you cross the river take r 305 to Espanola for the old brick road.
D is the old Dixie Hwy from the 20's one lane brick road is mostly covered with deep sand. Pass on both the Ferry and Old dixie unless you have good sand skills.

Pm me for .gpx tracks

Without too many detours, this is the path I typically take. It includes some of the better parts of the Ocala National Forest as well as downtown Palatka (a cool town) and the back way into St. Augustine.
