I left Saltillo for Puente Colombia late Monday morning, still feeling puny from the flu over the weekend.
Took cuotas to the bridge and was waived through two military checkpoints where all was quiet. Kept my papers open so I shot through to the Tx. side where I was the sole non-commercial vehicle. Shut the bike down, as usual, and enjoyed a nice chat with CBP. I like these guys and have found their general attitude towards my travels to be more relaxed than just three years ago. Just my personal anecdotal offering that officials on both sides seem more calm these days. When I stopped at the interior checkpoint CBP approached and began to ask if I had anyone else in the vehicle. He stopped mid-question and we both had a good laugh. An image from the film "Boxing Helena" shot through my mind. It's good for motorcyclists to shut the engine off for these guys. I've been thanked more than once, especially when a canine is on the job.

Turn off the bike, take off the full-face helmet so they can see your face, and open the Jesse cases. Then they want to talk about traveling into Mexico.

I never open anything unless they ask me to and advise others to do the same.

You haven't been coming back on a bike too much recently.
Lately all it's been is "are you nuts?" |

Anybody ridden Miquihana to San Antonio de Pena Nevada to Zaragoza to Aramberri then to 61? Need to make some time but the humid side of the Sierra Oriental was steamy today. Africa hot.
Teaser pics. ![]() ![]() ![]() This was a little village with an Indian name that means "rough switchback road that don't go through". ![]() And this was my attempt at an ADV shot. Hey. We are riding some of it.

Miguelito's Video
Great work Michael...Reed's "New Sensations" and Thompson's "52 Vincent" ("red hair and black leather, my favorite color schemes", mine too!) are great motorcycle songs. You should check out Mark-Almond's "Ridin' Free" from the early seventies. They were featured players with John Mayall in late sixties and cut a few albums on their own. That tune is on "Rising" Anyone got any other faves, please not Honda, Honda...good songs.
