That was my motivation for buying the 990. 10 years from now, I know I'll have to start scaling back on some of my riding. Enjoy it while you can, or you will go to your grave with regrets.

I've chosen to go with the full spectrum:

2010 990 Adventure - commuting, touring, easy dirt
2006 450 EXC - Long dual sport rides with knarly single track mixed in
2011 300 XC-W Light weight 5MOH & trail bike

Now that I no longer have bikes that require kick start, I am officially old and infirm.

My wife has as many bikes as I do. I've been told that if she ever sees me use "SWMBO" in a posting, that I will be soundly beaten.

The day I bought my white/orange 990, I took the wife on a date & bought her something in white/orange to match the bike. Both of them use batteries and have throttle controls.
