It is only a few words away from adding the definition of a motorcycle. One step closer for the haters to apply this to us if this gets through as written. This bill as written is a small step to pushing motorized vehicles out of the forests and public lands. Once the precedence is set, it is only a matter of time before there is an effort to expand this to all ORVs.

Agreed. Don't forget, to the general public, there is very little difference between motorcycles and 4-wheelers.

I just received this from Rep Hayes.
"Thanks for the information about Section 8 in HB 1632. I have received a couple of emails from others who also express their concern about this part of the bill. I understand your concerns and will be talking with Representative Shea about the possibility of amending this section to make it more acceptable. This bill has not yet been heard in committee, so we have some time for negotiations. So please give me some time to work on this and consider the options. " Remember this guy! He cares enough to respond.

Let's get him on our side while he's new.
![]() In all seriousness, it was nice of him to take the time out of his schedule to email chat with me. It's great to be able to bypass the aides.

And Haye's aide, Tawnya is OK too. Don't underestimate the value of a good relationship with the aides. They can be the key that unlocks the doors.

ATV's in MT & ID are plated and legally run on county & forest service roads.
They're required to have some things like brake lights and mirror to name a few. With the exception of the occasional kids spinning up dust, I've never seen an issue. I've even seen people on the trail stop to pick up garbage.
