I am such a fan of working midnights, having a 24hour walmart around..and having my wife work an opposite shift in the same building. It makes these chick holidays so much easier to deal with... 15 minutes of shopping (because I stopped to look at the 70 inch led TVs), sign the card, drop it and the flowers off on her desk. BANG ! DONE ! I'm good for another year!

Success is measured in the fact that IF you can make her feel guilty because she didn't get you enough cheap, useless crap then you win!....and that translates into motorcycles and parts down the road...

Yup, that was me. Had lunch at Jebs after a PDW (MSF/VRTP continuing education), then headed home to beat the weather.

couple of hours before the snow started. It ran great with fully tightened battery connections on a new battery but still carb-farted a couple of times. It's definitely running slightly lean because the farts stopped completely when I engaged the choke a tad while riding. Of course it was like 38 degrees out too so that may be a factor.
I gotta tell ya this bike is FUN. It handles better than I thought it would and it's actually hard to ride slow from light to light around town. That low-end grunt really put a grin on my face every time I cracked into it

Getting ready to go out into the cold to install my factory (quieter) pipes now. Restoring a bit of backpressure may help its lean condition too.

and put the OEM mufflers I got off of ebay on the bike. Looks better and sounds more refined too. As a matter of fact, as I was buttoning the bike back up a limo pulled up in front of the house, the window came down and a distinguished gentleman of years politely asked: " Pardon me, isn't that the new GS?"

Next weekend I'll be putting 13" Road King air shocks on the rear (another ebay find) to bring the bike up a tad and increase travel and improve handling a bit.. It's really LOW right now ... especially after riding the DR650 around for a whille!

Hey all, just wanted to introduce myself. I just picked up a 650GS Sertao a couple days ago. I'll mostly be using it to commute back and forth to work, but I'm also looking forward to some adventure riding this summer. I don't know all the lingo, but that will come with time I'm sure. I've owned 2 sport bikes, a Harley and now a dual sport. Looking forward to reading through the forums and learning as much as possible.
