I sat on some bikes yesterday: Super Ten, Ural Hacks, Moto Guzzi Stelvio NTX and MG Griso. The Griso reminded me of my MegaMoto, but it was lower and a the seating position was a bit more "sporty". The Stelvio reminded me of a GS, but an inch lower. It was pretty comfortable and I loved the giant headers coming out of that engine. I didn't care much for the front end (headlight design). The S10 was ok, but i just couldn't connect with it. Lastly, the Ural. Wow! I never wanted a funkier machine in my life! Sitting on it was similar to sitting on an atv or lawn tractor. It just seemed so utilitarian. Simple, yet beautiful.
So my pick for today? The Ural. Tomorrow? Probably one of the two Italian beauties (well, maybe the Stelvio is a beast).

I checked the Ural sidehacks out pretty good last year. Just looked them over I mean. Didn't ride one though. I have no idea how I'd get along with one in the real world but I will admit, there was a certain appeal that I can't really explain. If money and garage space were no object...

![]() I've ridden a few of these as Demo bikes. Never fail to put a grin on my mug. Just so wrong, yet works so well. Outragous and somewhat refined. That's the stock ones. This one is different. 240 H.P. That's Moto GP territory. 171 and change at Bonnieville. And it sounds like a low flying WW2 fighter plane. The rust is from the salt at Bonnieville. Somebody needs to get to cleaning.

![]() These are the bikes I would really like to have at the moment: ![]() The F700 has power and dirt road capability my V-Star lacks. I'd love to get one in addition to my cruiser as I really like how the V-Star rides around town and on back roads ![]() ![]() The Ural may not have more power than my V-Star, but it's cool, has huge dirt capability, and that sidecar can carry batteries for CPAP or cold weather gear. I could also probably get my daughter in the sidecar before I could get her on the back for fun trips in town ![]() OK, the Royal Enfield may not have a ton of power or off road capability, but it's not outrageously expensive, it's cool, and it looks like entirely too much fun ![]() ![]() Last, but not least is the Kiwi Indian Bobber. It's got disc brakes, but it also has a brand new flat head V twin engine, that sweet looking leaf spring front end, and your choice of kick or electric start! I also like the foot clutch and hand shift. It's just got a great mix of old and new and looks like a total hoot to ride
