Ya know, like the old saying goes, no matter how good-looking a woman is, just remember that somebody, somewhere, is sick and tired of putting up with her shit.

Yeah she's smokin hawt, and that's the triple truth. RUTH!

And now for a completely different kind of smokin hawt--I know F-4s weren't very maneuverable, and apparently they were a bitch and a half to work on, but ever since I was a little kid I've thought they were the most badass-looking fighter jet I've ever seen. And I recently stumbled upon this pic, prolly the best pic of one I've ever seen:

Yeah they couldn't turn worth a shit but they sure were fast

F4s vs F15

Of course I am no pilot but I was around Eglin during the transistion from F4 to Eagles. I was told the F4 flew a lot like a brick, and the F15 flew like.... well like an Eagle.

But I have to agree the F4 were bas ass....

Baddest fighter of all time ....P51 baby....

Ya know what, I never thought about it like that, but now that ya mention it, I think it's a pretty good comparison.

I concur with ya there, Maestro--and not only the baddest fighter of all time, the most beautiful airplane that has ever flown, as well. IMHO, of course.

Most badass radial-engined fighter of all time? That's easy. The Corsair, without a doubt.

The late Frank Cheek, founder of T.W.O. and High Valley Airport in Suches GA, flew Corsairs in the Navy. He missed WWII by a year or so IIRC, can't remember if he told me he flew in Korea or not. I sure do miss going up to Suches and hearing his stories.

Settle down kids, I'll take a Warthog. Kind of like the "KLR" of fighters. Well, ground attack fighters...

Between the airpwer pics and Jen Anniston, might be time for a title change to say "Panhandle Old Guys Thread of Awesome".

I'll drink to that

Eloy, I saw my first Harrier demonstration at Barksdale AFB when I was 10 yrs old, I still remember staring at it, mouth agape, while it hovered over the tarmac. It was the most mind-blowing thing I'd ever seen in my whole decade of living!

Thumb

Pop flew P2V's back when "two turnin an two burnin" was "cool" - There is some old school video out there for that crazy low altitude, unpressurized, FLY-WITH-WIRE av-gas in the tanks (and smelling it), sub hunting with a wing tip flashlight bullshit.

Oh, the stories I've heard...

I was an F18 Fire Control Tech (code reader), but I ALWAYS LOVED the F4 Thunderpigs. Best Blue Angel shows I ever saw (back in 68). Bent wings, and bad assery, afterburners, smoke, allll OVER the damn place!
