Luggage for the Terra
Well, I finally did it. After test riding a Terra at Bill's Motorcycle Plus in Salem, OR yesterday I bought one. Bill runs a great dealership with really nice, friendly, honest and easygoing people. Check them out!
My new Terra is going to replace my Triumph Tiger 955i as my ADV tourer. So it is time to fit some luggage. Has anybody the Givi racks and sidecases on their bike yet? Anybody tried to fabricate sideracks for hardcases? Guess Touratech will have some racks and cases available soon. But who wants to pay their prices? What tankbags are you using?

I'm surprised you punctured a tyre riding at those speeds on that track. What pressure where you running? Now that you have repaired the tyre was there an obvious cause?
Around about the 1 minute mark it sounded like you were slipping the clutch. I guess the track was steeper than it looks but what are your thoughts on the gearing? |

The mesquite thorns down here are horrendous. If I had slime in the tubes I would have been fine. The gearing is kind of tall, and since I can't rev it above 4k (break in stage) steep climbs are a bit of a challenge.

Thanks. Didn't think about thorns as a cause,
As to reving during break in I have never been a strict adherent to arbitrary rev limits and never get had a car or bike that has suffered. In my experience a bit of tough love from time to time for a new motor vehicle during break in is far better than constant babying. |
