Cheers Dobbo - will probably still do it just to tick it off the list - rush again this year so we will be slabbing it down to Albury then across to Dederrang for the night on wednesday - do the usual up thru whitfield to mansfield etc

2 of us (on road bikes) are leaving Wagga at 6am on Thursday morning ,(should be down in Beechworth for Breaky around 8:30am)

Basic route (might change slightly)
Beechworth - Everton - Moyhu - Whitfield - Mansfield - Alex - Marysville - (Reefton) Warburton - Noojee - Warragul - Ranceby - Poowong - PI

Then leave PI Monday with an overnight stop (Probably around Anglers rest) , taking in FallsCreek before heading back to Wagga.

I did the road from Mitta Mitta to Omea on the way down to the island for the GP, it wasn't the horror show that people had lead me to believe, actually the black top in between the dirt bits was the ducks guts.
Did the Black Spur on the way back and enjoyed it very much (also helped that a fire truck ran off the road and all the cops were attending that little off!)

Whatever way you go I'm sure it will be all good..Dederrang pub is tops

Dobbo you would have been siting in the sun halfway down the mountain waiting for them to open the road with us maybe, going black spur and down don road to launching place this year,

Dobbo - we should be at Deddering Wednesday Night - Taking the road bikes also, well unless the GS has to be pack mule again - you want to meet along Kings Valley .. or say Whitfield on the Thursday Mid Morning? - approx time to work to?

Looks like I am now leaving a day earlier (Wed) for a 2 day trip down to PI

Weather is looking good for the Island this year, with a few drops of percipitation scheduled for Sunday, just to make things interesting

Even Daytime temps of around 27*C look good for a fire in the campground for the festivities.

Just remember the road between Harrietville and Dinner Plain is still currently closed due to fires in the area, if anyone was thinking of taking the scenic route over Mt Hotham.
