Where to Stay in Boone
At some point within the next couple of weeks (need to see 2 good days of weather coming up) I'm riding a new to me bike from Atlanta to Charlottesville Va. I was thinking of going from Atlanta to the Boone area, spending the night somewhere and competing the rest of the trip (mostly on the BRP?) the next day. Anyone got a suggestion for the overnight in/around Boone? Don't need anything fancy, be good if food/drink place(s) were nearby, cheap/clean, M/C friendly/safe, not into camping.

You may want to keep a close eye on the weather there. They're finally getting some winter. My son's there and I've put off a good number of trips due to weather over the last six weeks or so.

As far as hotels, they're all more expensive than you'd think they ought to be. There are a couple ski mountains in the area and they tend to drive the prices up in the winter.
Other than that, I've not found a bad place to stay in town. You'll find cheaper places in Lenoir south on 321.
