Do I need a new ABS ring?

I bought a set of cast wheels to have some street tires on so I can put some TKC80's on the wire wheels. The cast wheels I bought came with an ABS ring that looks different than the one that came on the wheels with the bike (2012 GS Adv). The ring that came on the bike has ~10 holes between mounting bolts, while the ring on the cast wheel has ~20 holes between mounting bolts. Will the ring on the cast wheel work with my ABS, or do I need to swap it out for a new ABS ring?

Yes. They need to be the same as the original ring or you will get a fault and your ABS wont work!

Thanks Jim - I appreciate it.

Can I bug you with one more question... do I need to swap rotor mounting bolts also? My wheels have countersunk bolts that are much lower profile than the buttonhead bolts on the cast wheels. I haven't tried mounting up the cast wheels yet so I don't know if the buttonhead bolts will cause any problems.

First install the wheel on your bike and try to make it turn very slowly.
I had to change the bolts also.
The originals tuched in the caliper

The ring ABS was changed from 08/2006 (48 wholes instead of 100)

This is one of the things I do NOT like in BMW. They change everything, so that the chances that you can just swap same parts are towards 0. Why can't everything just fit?

E.g., I had to replace an ABS unit on a k1200LT. The unit is the same as on all ABS-2 bikes. So I got another used unit from a k1200RS. What BMW did is that they changed the thread size on the pipes that connect the rear brake. Actually, they interchanged the threaded screws on the pipes :|

Dan, this change was necessitated by the change from servo to non-servo ABS. Most would call this a good thing.
