Nice, sounds like all your issues can be fixed simply-maybe a remap and then just extenders for the screen 7 mirrors. Are there plug/play maps that can be installed?
Congrats! |

My only gripe was the price the dealer was asking for it. $15,999 w/hard luggage. If I'm not mistaken that's in C14 and FJR territory no? I hope you got a better deal than that..

Lol yep. A bandit. A GSX1250FA. $15,999. He did call me a couple of weeks later and said he'd take 12,800 for it :-/ . Must be some really expensive luggage ;-)

![]() Thanks for sharing! If everything goes as planned, I'll jump on a naked 1250 by the end of the year. I've been lusting over them since 2007.

I think the issue is that you really can ride out with a new FJR for that much money here. I wouldn't even think of a 2011 GSX1250FA for more than 10k, 10.5 out the door.
Yes, our prices are unfairly low ;) I wish we got those here, with ABS it is a damn fine machine for the price.

I got mine off eBay. I got it for less than 8k and the bike only had 256 miles on it. I've been shopping around for several months looking for the right deal to come around. You just have to have patience. BTW, these bikes retail for 11,599. MSRP and I've seen them in Cycle Trader for 9000, new. Damn! Time to move! |

Yeah, I'll save up from my $500/month for the next 20 years and I'm
outta here!

cheap mirror extenders
I bought a 1250FA with bags in Nov 2011. Great bike, 16K miles on it now.
Bought a 20" Madstad adjustable windshield, Sargeant seat and now it's a great sports tourer. I also wanted mirror extenders and had an inspiration; use muffler hangers as spacers! Googled specs of various hangers and ordered a pair of Walker #464 35637 rubber hangers (fits the '95 Ford Mustang 3.8L V6-$11 bucks shipped from Rockauto.com). Each hanger's footprint and two holes (drill thru the small rubber wall in each hole) align almost perfectly on the 1250FA. Buy four M6 extended Allen head screws, mount the spacer between the mirrors and fairing and you have 1.5 inch extensions! |
