My probably poorly educated guess:
1) Lorenzo or Pedrosa or Rossi 2) Marquez or Crutchlow 3-5) from the above group I think I've got it nailed.

Rossi is good at setting records - oldest Moto GP Champion is a good one to aim for.

- The old champ returning to a bike he´s always performed very well on, and now with a point to prove...
- The young rising star, who gets to hop on the best machine on the grid, creates huge expectations, but seems to fulfill them straight away, and he´s just learning... - The defending champion, and his hardest opponent from last year, both of them virtually guaranteed to fight for podium positions in each and every race they finish... On paper, this seems like true dynamite – and that´s just the top four guys from Sepang test-1 mentioned (though it looks almost certain, that one of these riders will be crowned this year´s champion). In the past few years, something always seems to happen, that kills the excitement. Like Rossi breaking his leg, Pedrosa getting a DNF caused by a stupid team error, etc.... or somebody just runs away with the title, that´s not very exciting either. I really hope MotoGP delivers this year. |

The way Carlos and the Alstare team sorted the Panigale over the last two days at PI, maybe that's an option..?

He may not be right about Rossi, but he did write about Rossi.

So as part of a story I'm doing for a Dutch bike magazine, I calculated the ages of all past MotoGP and 500 champs. Below is a frequency distribution ranked according to age:
21 2 22 3 23 4 24 6 25 7 26 6 27 6 28 5 29 6 30 6 31 5 32 3 33 2 34 1 35 1 36 0 37 1

David,
Looking further into those figures, are the more recent champions younger than back in the 500cc days? Just thinking of the past few years. |
